The one where they're looking right at you. The light was just right. They look so them.
You've probably scrolled past it a hundred times. Maybe you've thought about printing it. Maybe it's your lock screen and you don't even see it anymore.
But you've never framed it. Never hung it on a wall. Never made it into something you'd stop and look at—really look at—every time you walked by.
That's the difference between a photo and a portrait...
You know the photo I mean...

The Photo
Not digital. Not AI. Not a filter or an app.
Real pencil on real paper. One portrait at a time. About 40 hours each.
I work from your favorite photo—the one you keep coming back to—and I draw what the camera caught but couldn't quite hold: the tilt of their head, the softness around their eyes, the way their fur catches light.
The little things you notice because you've looked at their face a thousand times...
I draw pets in colored pencil.
WHAT I DO
______

The Artwork
A portrait won't replace them. Nothing will. But it gives you something to look at—something made by hand, made with care—that says: this one mattered...
This is for people whose pets
aren't just pets.
WHO THIS IS FOR
______
Most of us scroll past those perfect shots every day... not because the love isn’t there, but because photos fade from view.

I take four new commissions each month.
Once those spots fill, the next opening is July.
If you've been thinking about doing this—while they're still here, while you still have that perfect photo—now is the time.
The spring commission list is now open

3 Easy Steps
HOW IT WORKS
______

I started drawing pets because I lost one.
His name was Chico. He was my first dog; my first love of a pet. When he died, I had hundreds of photos. None of them felt like enough.
So I drew him. And something shifted. It wasn't about making a perfect likeness. It was about sitting with him again. Paying attention. Honoring what he meant to me.
20 years later and that's still what I try to do for every pet I draw.
If your pet is your person, I'd be honored to draw them.

Frequently asked questions
How does the process work?
It starts with you sharing photos and stories about your pet—we'll chat to get the details right. I spend 40+ hours hand-drawing in colored pencil, sending progress updates so you feel involved. Then I ship it safely to you.
How long does it take?
Usually 4–6 weeks from our first chat to delivery. With only 4 spots per month, I can focus fully on each one. Let me know if timing matters (like for a special date), and we'll work around it.
What if my pet has passed away?
Yes, many of my portraits are beautiful tributes. Share photos that capture their essence, and we'll create a lasting memory that brings comfort and keeps their spirit close.
Do you offer revisions or previews?
Absolutely—we'll share progress shots along the way so you can see it coming together. If something doesn't feel quite right, we'll adjust together until it truly captures their soul.
What materials ensure it lasts?
I use professional colored pencils on museum-grade, acid-free archival paper—rated to last 100+ years without fading. It's made to become a family keepsake passed down with love.
